Pastors and praying friends,
We have had another very busy couple of months as we serve here in the ministry in London. We are constantly trying to think of ways to reach out into the community as well as encourage and equip those within the church. In January, we hosted a ‘mens curry night’ at the church that was very well attended. There were a great group of guys that came out who were able to hear the testimony of a man that from our local community. Our church sits right in the middle of a housing estate that hasn’t always had the best reputation. To hear of a man that grew up in and around the area that is now serving Jesus was a real encouragement to myself and the other men.
Around Valentines day we held a couples meal for all the couples in the church. This was another great opportunity to teach biblical truth about relationships, and to get to spend time with all the couples. And speaking of relationships, Sherry and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary recently. I thank God for the amazing wife that I have!
We were able to spend a few days with our good friends Phil and Lori Bassham who are church planting in Thailand. They were on their way to the US and had a long layover and are now on furlough. They would be great to have in your church this year if you are able.
This past week our family has been busy moving house. We moved about five minutes away from our previous home. We have already had the opportunity to speak to several of our new neighbors about what we are doing here which always sparks interests. With Jesus being so far from most people’s minds, pray that we will be able to share the gospel effectively and that they might trust in Christ!
We have been blessed to work closely with several local pastors and missionaries. We were able to spend several days together with them for our annual retreat where we encouraged one another in the Word and worked on plans to better reach the UK and Ireland with the gospel.
Lastly, we are preparing for our co-laborers Travis & Teri Snode to leave for a year long furlough in August. They are needing to raise additional support for the ministry. They are some of the hardest working people that we know, and have faithfully served in the UK since 2004. I would highly recommend partnering with them if you can. You can contact Travis by email at email@example.com.
As always, thank you for your faithful prayers and support, and God bless!
