Dear Pastors & Praying Friends,
Imagine with me two men getting ready to leave all they have ever known for a city unlike any other in the world. One leaves behind a family in a country unreached with the Gospel. He leaves behind years of struggling to get by, dissatisfaction, hunger, and seeks to find the remedy to those things in his new temporary home. He hopes that this journey he is getting ready to make will enable him to finally bring peace to a family that has never known such a thing. He leaves, hoping to return a new man able to give his little family a better life.
Another man is getting ready to leave. A man on a mission to plant the Gospel seed into the heart of man and establish churches into a city that needs them desperately. With his family, he boards a plane as his family and friends cry tears of joy knowing the work of God that lies ahead. He too leaves behind a life that is all too familiar. A life that if lived would no doubt be a comfortable one. Saying goodbye to the life he has always known, he sets off to this same city but with a completely different purpose.
Two men, two cultures, two walks of life, two contradicting purposes for moving to the city of London. Two men that would know virtually nothing of each other. But what if these men were to meet? What if in a desperate pursuit of happiness, the first man stumbles across a church and with curiosity goes in. A place where the Gospel is proclaimed, this man can come and hear something that has never penetrated his heart before. Imagine the joy that this man might feel after searching for the answer to life’s problems, when he finds them not in the wealth that he sought, but in a man named Jesus!
This is our dream! That dozens and hundreds of men, women, boys and girls might step into a life of following Jesus and compelling others to do the same. Remember that man’s family back home, awaiting his return? Now imagine he and an army of others going around the world, leaving London with the Gospel in hand. Imagine this man standing in front of his family declaring that he did in deed find that fulfillment he was looking for, but it came from something he didn’t even know existed. Something that he never knew to seek!
Men, leaving London for the world with the Gospel. We believe that this world can be reached with the Gospel message, but it must start with one. Pray that God would give us that first one. Pray that He will prepare many even now to receive the Word with all readiness. Pray that God will give dead men new life, one at a time beginning in the city of London, and from there reaching the world!
We are so excited that in just six months we will land in this city. We are ready to see all that God will accomplish and look forward to seeing many lives changed for His glory. Thank you for continuing to pray for us as the time of our departure draws nearer.
God bless! – Chris . Sherry . Lawson . Linden . Liam
